Less searching. More context.

Start with the questions
your team asks every day.

From the person behind a record to the duty they are assigned, keep the next decision in view.

01

Who is onboard?

Find the person behind the record. See vessel status, recorded service and the next planned movement.

02

What needs attention?

Follow missing information, expired documents and approaching expiries back to the source record.

03

Are muster duties covered?

Review open positions, assigned crew and the requirements behind each duty before making changes.

04

Is the report ready?

Check the preview, recipients, wording and generated attachments before you send a vessel report.

01Crew management

One person. A connected crew record.

Keep identity details, portraits, documents, certificates and employment records connected to the same person, with the vessel context your team needs.

  • Find returning crew in a searchable directory, with duplicate warnings to support your review.
  • Record rank, joining details, status and muster duty for each vessel assignment.
  • Follow sign-on, sign-off and temporary absence alongside service history.

Permissions control access to sensitive profile sections, including contact, next-of-kin and contract information.

02Document readiness

See the gaps before the next change.

Bring missing items, expired records and approaching expiries into view. Check crew records against the relevant rank, vessel and muster requirements, then open the source behind the indicator.

  • Review held certificates alongside the requirements for the role.
  • Follow familiarisation modules and annual refreshers.
  • Correct the source record and recheck the indicator.

Checks support your team's review. They depend on accurate records and configured requirements; your authorised team makes the operational decision.

03Crew-change planning

Prepare the next rotation with the full picture.

Bring joining and leaving plans together with dates, ports and movement details. Review issues as the plan develops, then apply confirmed changes through the crew-change workflow.

  • Keep joining and leaving details together in one plan.
  • Compare recorded service and planned movements on the monthly roster.
  • Distinguish proposed movements from activity already recorded.

Crew-change planning

04Muster planning

Give every duty its proper context.

Build vessel blueprints around operating modes, emergency teams, positions and survival craft. Review coverage and candidate requirements before assigning active onboard crew.

  • Assign primary, shadow and extra duties with certificate requirements and rank preferences in view.
  • Review suggested improvements and check the resulting live muster list.
  • Explore crew-change timelines and interim coverage in Muster Lab, then save assignment templates for reuse.

Templates save assignments; the wider Muster Lab workspace stays in that browser as a draft. Review the proposal before applying live changes.

05Vessel reporting

A review step before every send.

Prepare Number, Team and Boat muster lists, IMO crew-list PDF and CSV attachments, and summaries of recorded crew compliance issues. Inspect what you are about to distribute.

  • Confirm arrival or departure details, crew selection and the Master in Command.
  • Check recipients, edit the wording and inspect generated attachments before sending.
  • Preview photo ID cards and duty sheets, and review stored dispatch details when following up.

Email edits change the message, not crew records or generated attachments. Sent-mail records show dispatch details, not proof of recipient delivery.

Build fixed crew groups or dynamic lists using your conditions, then export saved lists as PDF or CSV. Explore Data adds configurable columns and filtered CSV exports.

Fleet service statistics

Review recorded joinings, sign-offs, completed tour lengths and returns. Filter periods and crew groups, with supporting records and incomplete history in view.

Permissions & support

Control access to operational actions and sensitive records. Authorised users can manage vessel settings and backup workflows, with in-app guides, notices and support tickets.

From records to action

Real work.
Connected workflows.

Bring the tasks your team carries out every day. Follow each one from the first record to the final review.

01

Prepare for a joining

Find the profile, review documents and familiarisation, and plan the joining. Check the roster and muster coverage, then record the actual movement and verify the live assignment.

02

Resolve a document warning

Open the warning and compare the record with the source document. Update the details, save and recheck. Regenerate the report preview when the correction needs to be shared.

03

Review a vessel report

Confirm the vessel and reporting details, then inspect the preview. Check the recipients, wording and attachments in the email review, and send when the information is ready.

Considering FerrySafe for your team? Here are a few things to know.

Talk to us
Who is FerrySafe Database for?

FerrySafe Database is built for ferry operators and the shore and shipboard teams responsible for crew administration, document records, muster planning and vessel reporting. A demo can focus on the responsibilities of your own team.

Can one person have records for more than one vessel?

Yes. A crew profile can hold multiple vessel assignments alongside shared personal, document and employment information. The managed vessel determines the operational context, and access permissions determine what each user can see and do.

Does a compliance indicator certify that someone is ready to sail?

No. Indicators identify recorded gaps and approaching expiries using the data and requirements available to the application. Your authorised team must verify the source documents and make the operational decision.

Can we test a muster arrangement before changing live assignments?

Yes. Muster Lab provides a planning workspace for assignments, crew pools and crew-change timelines. Saved templates hold the assignments; the broader Lab workspace is retained as a browser draft. Review the proposal before applying changes through the live workflows.

Can reports be checked before they are sent?

Yes. PDF previews let you inspect layouts, and report email reviews show recipients, wording and relevant attachments before sending. Email edits do not change the underlying crew records or the generated attachments.

What can we export?

Saved crew lists support PDF and CSV. Explore Data supports filtered CSV and Pers15 exports. Reporting includes muster PDFs and IMO crew-list PDF and CSV, with separate workflows for crew-change sheets, photo ID cards and duty sheets.

Are the people and vessels shown here real operational records?

No. The screenshots use fictional demonstration data and prepared demonstration portraits. They illustrate application workflows and do not represent a customer's crew, operations or results.
